About Rita

I was born in the Northern Cape of South Africa and has lived all my life in South Africa, although I have traveled extensively. I reside with my husband in Johannesburg and have two adult daughters, one dog and two cats and have a great love for nature.

Although I had no formal art education I started my painting adventure in 2009 and with an insatiable hunger to learn more, nothing could hold me back once I discovered my love for creating art. I am a very keen learner and by reading many art books, doing research online, learning by watching videos and taking painting classes, I have put all of this into practice. I am passionate about nature and photography and love painting in bold, vibrant colors. My work is constantly evolving as I explore new techniques, mediums or styles.

In the past I painted for fun and as a hobby. I sold many paintings to family, friends and acquaintances. In 2012 I decided to turn my passion of painting into a full-time career.
