About Annaliese

Annaliese Scholtemeyer

Growth, according to a harmonizing rhythm and balance, epitomizes the essence an inspired life.
Growth involves a process of self-discovery, during the course of which our understanding of the world around us is enhanced.
Creating and painting are ways in which I maintain my rhythm and balance and, ultimately growth.
Through my paintings I aspire to clarify the meaning of my own existence, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the world in which I live. My paintings are also a means of expressing and communicating my values, in a clear and simple way, to the world.
My Inspiration:
My fondest childhood memories are of those glorious times when I would happen upon a blank sheet of paper: the possibilities... the overwhelming, excitement.... They were just beyond words! A clean canvas still inspires those same exhilarating spirits in me.
Our CREATION IS AWE-INSPIRING. There is always beauty surrounding us, even amidst hardship, trouble and turmoil something positive can be discerned. When we open our minds and our souls to the beauty this world has to offer, it becomes apparent that evil is unnatural and transient. That is why I choose to see and reflect the beauty in all things.
My Education:
I have no qualification in any form of art. I obtained my Master's Degree (with distinction) in Social Work, with specialisation in Medical Social Work at the University of Pretoria in 1995.
My style:
I describe my style as Contemporary Impressionism
Exhibitions:
I mostly paint on commission. Otherwise, my house serves as my "art gallery".
