About "Age Beautifully "

"When an old man dies a library burns to the ground." African proverb.

This is one of my favourite pieces, I loved watching this old man come to life with every brush stroke.

His eyes are so old, slightly milky and hold such wisdom whereas his hands are long and almost dainty. What has this man done in his life to create this contrast?
