About "Apple in Kitchen"
On a specific day in October 2007, I saw the sunlight shining through my kitchen blinds during the afternoon. The way it was
shining on the kitchen cupboard was just facinating. I immediately decided to use some fruits to and photograph them in this
sunlight coming through the blinds. The apple just came out beatiful and I decided to start painting it.
I really enjoyed painting this, because it gave me a feeling of this warmness of the apple simply glowing against the dark
background. It was as if the apple was just consuming the beauty of the sunlight from the reflections on the cupboard and the
light shining in through the blinds.
The other reason for being so excited about this painting is because it was al my own, that is the initial idea, the photo I
worked from and the final result. It gives one a special feeling of achievement.

About Gerald
I started drawing at the age of 4. It all just comes naturally.
I do art as it flows from my thoughts and get into creation in some way that can provoke interest within the viewer. Through my art I try to express my appreciation for something special and life itself, as it comes from the heart. I paint whatever I feel has some meaning for me, sometimes simple, sometimes complicated, sometimes personal and sometimes just plain fun. I enjoy every piece that I do, small or large, with pure artistic pleasure.
I work in various mediums like Acrylic, Charcoal, Oil, Graphite, Watercolor, Pastels etc.
