About "Ballet at Sacre-Coeur"

This painting started as a reminder of my visit to Sacre-Coeur in Paris. Over 6 months it progressed into a backdrop for the famous ballerina Nureyev. Why a church and a Ballerina? Does the Ballerina, who epitomises grace, elegance and beauty personify the church, or is the church simply a theatre for display?

I studied Fine Arts for 4 years at the Natal Technikon, where I majored in Painting and Photography. I find myself drawn mainly to landscapes, and work in a wide range of medium. I work as a graphic and website designer.
