About "Desert Gemsbuck"
A beautiful red dune with a gemsbuck running in the savannah grass.
I am a Worcester (South Africa) based photographer that has been in the photographic industry for over 18 years. I started doing photography from the age of 15 and have not stopped since. In 1994 I worked at a local news paper for a couple of months and it is there that the photography bug really got hold of me. I went on to study Photography at Port Elizabeth Technikon from 1995 - 1997. After I got my National Diploma in Photography I went to work for a Cape Town based professional photographer, Johan Wilke. After two years of gaining a tremendous amount of experience with him I decided to travel by means of working on cruise ships. I got a job at Carnival Cruise lines as a on board photographer. Cruise ship photography was a great way to meet fellow photographers from all over the world and it also teaches you to work long hours and under a great deal of stress. In 2001 I returned to my home town where I started working in the photographic retail business for the next couple of years. Tired of the retail business I decided to start Occi's Photo and digital services. Photography is still my first passion and I enjoy working with people.
