About "Feast of friends"

This is a very happy moment I reconstructed of our wedding reception. We were wedded on a small wine farm in Elgin in the autumn of 2010. It was a small party of 18 guests around a picnic table spread out under the willow trees lining the farm dam. It was a supreme, sunshine, windless day in the Cape and we were surrounded by the people closest and dearest to us. It was truely a dream come true.
The name I borrowed from one of Jim Morrison's poems were the frase reads: " I prefer a feast of friends to the giant family".

I chose figurative rather than conceptual art as language to convey my personal interaction and interpretation of the world around, and inside myself.

My fascination with the human form reflects a perspective that the human body radiates divine light. I see human life not only as uniquely adapted to survive, but also as a vessel carrying the responsibility to heal, to love, to embrace.

My favourite quote is by a musician participating in the Play for change initiative: "Where there is great art, there is always heaven."
