About "Figs in a Bowl"

The rich warm colour of the figs in an old chipped enamel bowl inspired me to create that old world feeling of a farm kitchen.

About Carine

God created a perfect and beautiful universe. I am blessed with a talent to portray everything I see in a very realistic way. I grew up in the small town of Prince Alfred[0x1]s Hamlet and attended school there. I studied art at Stellenbosch University under Prof. Larry Scully, who taught me to look at my object as if I am in love with it. For nine years I was an art teacher at Diamantveld High School, Kimberley, and then Hugo Naude Art Centre, Worcester.
For several years I did children[0x1]s book illustrations and received two ATKV rewards. For the last couple of years I focused on oil paintings. I specialise in different genres such as landscapes (farmsteads),seascapes, portraits, nudes, still lifes, flowers, pets and wild life.
I am willing to take on commissions for all genres when I am provided with a photograph of good quality.
