After a career in advertising and publishing Helen started painting professionally sixteen years ago and has exhibited widely.
She has also designed and illustrated 94 environment cards which are used as teaching aids in schools throughout South Africa.
Helen lives in Aniston, Southern Cape, where she has a studio and teaches art.
Helen paints her unique vision of the world around her. Her love of nature provides the inspiration for her contemplative paintings. She works in a freer, though no less disciplined, hand than the miniaturist but her pictures are on a larger scale.
