About "Flowers of Joy"
The beautiful fullness of the blooms, the colours and the feeling of serenity.
I was raised in a small town called Virginia in the Free State. Probably due to the small size of the school, there was no art as a subject available. I taught myself to draw and drew anything I could find from the age of about 6. I didn't study art, but obtained a BSocSc degree. I worked for a couple of years in Human Resources and while doing this took some lessons in oil painting from an amazing art teacher - Nuccia Taylor, painting under Anna de Paoli. Painting was a hobby, until recently - I am trying to become a professional artist, as I stopped work to look after my twins. As they are now going to school, I have time to paint and draw. I am truly blessed to be able to paint and draw and seeing the end poduct is what excites me.
