About "Frolicking Dolphins" When Alvera received a postcard from her daughter visiting in Hawaii, she loved the painting of dolphins printed on the front. Alvera began exploring dolphins and their sense of playfulness, and produced close on twenty different dolphin paintings. Most of these have been sold to collectors from all over the world. There are six paintings left, each of them can be made into a set of two small and one large picture. These paintings are stunning in your bedroom or the lounge area. They are also really great as pictures for the waiting room in a medical practice or even in a restaurant. |

Alvera Walker passed away in Feb 2008 at the age of 82. She started painting at 62 when she joined a local art club in Port Alfred. Within a year she was selling potboilers at the local coffee shops. Alvera loved painting the wildlife big five, animals which she grew up with in the Rhodesian bushveld. She spent the last ten years of her life near the sea in Port Alfred, a lovely quiet seaside town in the Eastern Cape. Many of Alvera's magnificent seascapes and dolphins were inspired by the beauty of this place. She leaves a legacy of only 150 paintings that include birds, dolphins, wildlife and flowers. She also painted some whimsical paintings that she called her "What if? "paintings, which were strongly influenced by Salvador Dali. Many of her paintings have been sold to art lovers around the world and now grace some of the most beautiful homes in the world.
