About "Go Away"

There's that moment when you think that you've been clever but suddenly you're mother turns on you and you realise that you are in really big trouble. You shouldn't have said that. Now you might be leaving home and there's a huge scary world out there.
As for all of us, life for the Go Away bird can ruffle a few feathers.

About Roy

Roy Gibbs

Originally from Ipswich in the UK, I emigrated in 1979, working for a British company, and remained here in this beautiful, exciting country ever since. I live on the edge of the Moot valley with a vista of the Magaliesberg mountains and a garden full of birds. Karee, Hookthorn and Pink Ivory trees grow around the house, Stamvrug and Milkwood on the hillslopes behind us.
I have been woodturning for 25 years and in the last few years I have been incorporating pyrography into my work to the extent that my turning is becoming incorporated into my pyrography. It delights me that I can combine my love of wildlife with working with wood and that I can see so many avenues to explore in the future. Finding ways to combine these 2 skills into desirable art work is a very fulfilling occupation. I hope you enjoy what you see and I welcome any comments, complimentary or not.

I participated at 'Botanical' an exhibition held at Kim Sacks Gallery, Rosebank, Johannesburg, December / January 2021 and at the 2019 symposium of the Association of South African Woodturners my work was placed in both decorative and woodturning categories.

I am a metallurgist and self taught artist
