About Kim

I started attending weekly painting classes in 2010 with my cousin, Durban Artist, Dee Donaldson, while still practicing Architecture but decided to concentrate more on my art in 2014. I currently run 2 weekly classes for beginners wanting to learn oils and started the very popular social "ArtNites in 2016.
My work is based on my own photographs. I love the idea of activating the canvas in various ways (something I learnt from Dee) as this gets rid of the "white fright" of a new canvas. It assists in adding interest (and sometimes drama!) to an image that you may not be able to get even if you try too!
