About "Indian Ocean Reef"

My passion for scuba diving and marine life in particular. Incorporating 5 marine fish, a variety of corals and sponges on a live rock reef. A truly one of a kind carving created with incredible detail which took an entire year to produce.

About Byron

My passion for fish started before I was old enough to walk. My father had a freshwater tropical aquarium which I would often sit in front of when I was frustrated about something. Ever since then there has been a constant flow of fish tanks constantly increasing in size and complexity.
My journey to the USA introduced me to another facet of study. The art of fish replicas carved from wood, animated and airbrushed to resemble the real thing. I had been doing this as a hobby, but seeing the amazing quality of the works in the USA prompted me to take it further. I entered two World shows, one in 2001, where I entered a 25cm bluegill sunfish which garnered third place overall that year. The following year I entered a 45cm largemouth bass which received second place overall. This year I went to the world show in Missouri in May to compete with a large carving, incorporating 5 reef fish and a variety of hard corals, macro algae and invertebrates, as well as live rock.
Aquatic biotopes have always been and will always be a huge part of my life.
