About "Knysna Splendor"
This bright landscape is a viewpoint of a man-made Island in Knysna, Western Cape called Thesen Isle.
I was down there in Knysna in 2007 in regards to this specific painting ,for a holiday visiting my father and brothers, who were still small back then ( and are now finished with school and all grown up). We were at Sir Rocco's restaurant, our favorite on the on the island to enjoy the sunset on that beautiful day.
Sir Rocco's is a double story restaurant with equisite views of the entire Knysna and surroundings.
Thesen Isle is the hollywood of Knysna. you cross over a little bridge and as you derive in it is like Hollywood Boulevard with the most expensive shops and little restaurants and around the corner on the edge at the water, next to private docking bays for very large Catamarang is Sir Rocco's.
The afternoon was quiet in December as if Knysna was in a slumber and it was just before Christmas and majority places were gearing up near closing.
Across the bay canal boast an array of Houses unique to the island for all is made from wood and have that beach look, yet very upmarket in architecture.
In 2019 I was praying for new inspiration after 2 years where i was focusing on family life and tentatively nurturing my first born who just turned 1 now, before I started painting again and God answered my prayer that changed a holiday photo into this vibrant work of art.

About Emirita
Painting for me is the eloquent flow of brushstrokes in paint gliding over canvas portraying decadent splendor in an almost tangible uniqueness that one can not easily bestow elsewhere.
My inspiration stems from visions, graphic imagery in my dreams even though absurd and somewhat Salvador Dali, the world around me in a kaleidoscope of aspects.
I have an array of stimuli in my exterior world and internally that I get inspiration from.
I work in a variety of mediums and have skills and techniques that are adaptive and customized to suit whatever need be portrayed. I am not limited.
Art is written in my DNA, it is my passion,my God given talent and skill, it flows from within.
Without God it would only be blank canvas.
I am open to commissions in Oil, Watercolour, Sketches and Mosaiic in paper.
