About Catherina

My name is Catherina-Elizabeth Jonker, I sometimes paint under the name “Rina Jonker” and some of my paintings are signed “Elbeth” (meaning house of God). To be creative is my passion. I studied art at the Rona Zwarts School of Art from 1983 to 2012 and have participated in various group exhibitions.
In 2011 I completed my Master’s degree in Ministry. My study was on Prophetic art and therefore I have been doing many Prophetic Paintings. Currently I am doing my D-Min. degree. I know that in a sense all art is prophetic because art is just another way of speaking. I have sold my art to both South African and overseas buyers.
I feel that every idea that comes to the artist should be seriously considered, no matter how similar it seems to something you've tried before; every picture or painting is a form of art and tells a story. Being open to new ideas implies that every idea can be discussed, challenged and enhanced.
I currently paint and teach art on a part time basis.
