About "Leopard Looking Back"

Alvera Walker loved pictures of leopards in trees. She particularly enjoyed painting the eyes of the leopard. She felt that they could see into your soul. This painting has the effect of being watched wherever you are in the room, a bit like the Mona Lisa. This is a great painting to place in the middle of the wall at a site where a lot of people will be aware of the leopard's eyes following them. Great for Bed and Breakfast rooms or safari lodges!

About Alvera

Alvera Walker

Alvera Walker passed away in Feb 2008 at the age of 82. She started painting at 62 when she joined a local art club in Port Alfred. Within a year she was selling potboilers at the local coffee shops. Alvera loved painting the wildlife big five, animals which she grew up with in the Rhodesian bushveld. She spent the last ten years of her life near the sea in Port Alfred, a lovely quiet seaside town in the Eastern Cape. Many of Alvera's magnificent seascapes and dolphins were inspired by the beauty of this place. She leaves a legacy of only 150 paintings that include birds, dolphins, wildlife and flowers. She also painted some whimsical paintings that she called her "What if? "paintings, which were strongly influenced by Salvador Dali. Many of her paintings have been sold to art lovers around the world and now grace some of the most beautiful homes in the world.
