About "Little Princess"
Inspired by a photograph from The Green Studio in Bloemfontein. I asked the photographer's permission to make use of her photo. Created for the main purpose of improving my portfolio as I often create baby portraits for customers.
Unfortunately, many of my commission customers don't always send high-quality pics which makes it extremely difficult to work from.
Originally, I did the drawing just in charcoal and water but decided to add colour and experiment with soft pastels which I don't work with often. I am fairly happy with results as it looks way different than my standard drawings. Definitely considering creating more portraits with soft pastels as it is a nice means to add colour that is quick and less messy than painting. Luckily, the parent also loved the drawing so it was sold the same day I finished the drawing.

I am a Fine Artist, based in Free State, South Africa. I specialize in realistic drawings and paintings of People, with a subtle Christian Narrative. My preferred mediums are Graphite Pencils, Soft Pastels, and Oil Paint. I work mostly from photographs, but love to do life studies when I get the opportunity.
My personal work deals with self-believe, and identity, especially regarding my daily battle as a Christian to realign myself to God's word. It is also about God's values in contrast to the World's.
I have art collectors all over South Africa, as well as overseas. In addition, I have created a wide variety of custom-made portrait commissions for customers, working mainly from photographs.
