About "Mama Africa"
This freestanding sculpture represents the birth of our new nation as well as the delicate balance between nature and mankind. The arms are extended back in the throws of birth and the feet (representing roots) are anchored in the earth, thereby signifying our roots in the African continent. The chest is exposed, which gives a glimpse of the decay of nature and emphasizes the fact that care should be taken to preserve our Africa for children yet unborn. Unique (one only.) Different views on request.
"My sculptures feed off the nostalgia of innocent times, lost in thought or activity. Sometimes they even embody the thoughts or pictures born in a moment [0x1] but every piece has meaning. To me, at least, they speak.[0x1]
