About Gill

born in Cape Town,1959.
I am inspired by colour and composition and the application thereof. On the one hand my work is dominated by the application of thick oil paint and brush marks, sometimes mixing media. On the other hand I spend a great deal of time in the bush and my love affair with photography, space,trees and grass is evident in the large canvases that combine photography and oil painting. I try to take the viewer into the space from the position of my creating the oompostion.
