About "Namibian Bushman"

Portrait of Khobi, a Namibian bushman. He played on a self-made musical instrument, made from an old oil-can with 6 strings. He accompanied himself, crooning a low, rather sad song. He wore the traditional headgear and skin 'cloak' of his family group.

About Jeanette

Jeanette Horn

I painted and illustrated for the advertising industry until my first solo exhibition in 1990. Subsequently I've been painting in oils, watercolours and pastels for exhibitions and commissions. I also illustrate children's books, the most recent being a children's fairy book written by long-time friend Margaret Roberts.
Portraits are one of my favourite expressions in painting. Being able to capture the personality of the person and transfer it onto canvas is a real challenge and, for me, one of the most rewarding of all the aspects of painting. I do accept commissions for portraits.
