Oliwenhuis was originally built as a large homestead in the Cape Dutch style in Bloemfontein. It has recently been restored and converted into an art gallery, and its original dignity and beauty has been carefully preserved. I've painted it in the afternoon light, a view of its back, north-facing entrance.
I painted and illustrated for the advertising industry until my first solo exhibition in 1990. Subsequently I've been painting in oils, watercolours and pastels for exhibitions and commissions. I also illustrate children's books, the most recent being a children's fairy book written by long-time friend Margaret Roberts.
2 solo exhibitions - 1991 and 1994
3 year Art Diploma at Durban's Natal Technical College.
