About "Pink Tango Shoes"

I love to dance Argentine Tango. Most of us female tango dancers have a shoe fetish. If you look at what most of us wear while we dance, you would think that tango is all about the shoes.
In some ways, it is. This dance always makes you want to look at the dancer's feet, so indeed those shoes get noticed.
I wanted to do a small painting featuring tango shoes, so here it is.

About Karen

Karen Steffano

There is sometimes a quirky sense of humour to my work, I like creating scenarios you would not see in real life that let you wonder about them. I like to show there is beauty in the mundane and the everyday. I am more likely to portray a humble pig than a proud lion, a simple rock rather than a grand vista. Every painting has a story and has meant something to me.

My family and I immigrated to South Africa from the UK in the 70[0x1]s, where we have lived ever since. I love South Africa and I love living here and I can[0x1]t imagine living anywhere else. Growing up here, art became my favourite subject at school, I won the art prize one year and I dreamed of becoming a famous artist.
I went on to study Fine Art at Wits University, majoring in Painting. After graduation, I left the art world and pursued a different career. Later my interest and desire to create art grew until I try to paint every single day.

1988 - Fine arts Degree University of the Witwatersrand majoring in painting.
