About "please delete"

Originally, I created this artwork as a video demonstration model for a portrait drawing workshop - but I was so happy with the results that I decided to add it to my portfolio.
Created from a free wallpaper image, unfortunately, I don't know who the original photographer is. If somebody does, please let me know. I would love to give credit.

The artwork was created by using pencil, white soft pastel, putty rubber, and a soft brush. There is quite a lot of details that get a bit lost in the photograph. I spend approximately about 12 hours on the drawing, give and take. This was my first ever time-lapse video attempt, learned quite a lot and hope to do others in the near future that focus on areas like the nose, mouth etc.

Was a fun project, albeit a little bit intense as I tried to get all the detail down to the last speck. I am starting to get a new style in drawing that I kind of love and hope to focus more on in future projects.

About Liesel

Liesel Wessels

I am a Fine Artist, based in Free State, South Africa. I specialize in realistic drawings and paintings of People, with a subtle Christian Narrative. My preferred mediums are Graphite Pencils, Soft Pastels, and Oil Paint. I work mostly from photographs, but love to do life studies when I get the opportunity.

My personal work deals with self-believe, and identity, especially regarding my daily battle as a Christian to realign myself to God's word. It is also about God's values in contrast to the World's.

I have art collectors all over South Africa, as well as overseas. In addition, I have created a wide variety of custom-made portrait commissions for customers, working mainly from photographs.
