About Deirdre

The once professional graduate has traded this for her other passion: art. She is now living her dream by creating works for others to love and enjoy.

Deirdre du Preez is passionate about mosaic – and pewter work, a combination of the two and multimedia works. She combines the simplicity, honestly and earthly colours of the Karoo (where she grew up) with the modern influences of city life. The combinations are original and rich filled with colour, texture and contour. She loves working with stained glass and a variety of tiles, other media and pewter to create 3D – mosaic works. The pewter is sculpted into high and low relief works. Doing this is such a JOY!
