About "Shepherds Hut - Caledon "

This lonely shepherd's hut is about 6km away from the main farmstead and in years gone by the shepherd would spend many weeks tending his flock and away from the rest of the farm inhabitants. With modern farming methods, better roads and vehicles the hut is no longer used but is well maintained. In the long hot Cape summers the area is bleak and dry but in August and September the fields are green with wheat or yellow with flowering Canola (Rapeseed).
