About Michele
Michele is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.
Born in 1958 in Namibia.
I have painted since the age of five when my father bought me my first set of oil paints. He was my first inspiration and encouraged me to draw from the age of three. At the age of fifteen I undertook a three year art course which I completed in 1976.
Through my life I have been inspired by many different things, and gone through many changes in my work. I have always been inspired by not only what I see, but by what I hear, touch or feel about things.
My work is colourful, tactile and thought provoking. I believe that a painting should be something which encourages conversation, not just a pretty picture on one's wall. I like to compose paintings which are appealing to the eye and the soul.
A lot of my paintings are inspired by the sky and sea. My message would be, I think, 'look how vast and powerful the creator is and how insignificant living beings are on this diverse, interesting earth of ours' ........!
I am thankful for the talent and ability I was given, and am
grateful for every sale I have made. It is always an honour to
have art enthusiasts and collectors from all corners of the world choose one of my paintings to hang in their private space.
I hope that you will enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed doing each brush stroke on each painting.

Exhibitions
I own a little gallery in Big Bay on the west coast called "ART IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN"
My next exhibition is NASHUA ART IN THE PARK in Pietermaritzurg KZN from 1-5 June 2011. This will be my 14th year
participating in this wonderful event.
