Ann Cloete

Ann is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Ann lives with her husband in Cape Town, South Africa. After enjoying a successful career in Music, she was in her early fifties before the call of the visual arts became too insistent to ignore. Now, she paints full-time - whilst also pursuing her art studies with gifted teacher Zaria de Villiers. Her first exhibition was held in February 2006.

Her style is exuberant and expressionistic. Some realism is employed, yet bold strokes and the use of vibrant colour may be said to dominate. Texture is thus an important element and her works are intended to be displayed without framing.

Preferred subjects are abstracts, South African scenery, wildlife and flowers.
