About Johann

Johann Davids

Johann is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Looking beyond the surface

Although I make paintings in the traditional way, I also use materials which may include sand, wood ash, feathers, eggshells, teabags, etc in my art making. Mixing these materials with glue and paint and manipulating it in various ways, open new creative possibilities for me.

The human form is still a quintessential element in my art. I explore the humans Landscape’ in a variety of ways – bringing into focus the multicultural diversity of the country and factors affecting the human condition.
