About Marie-Helene
Marie-Helene is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa. My name is Marie-Helene de Beer. I have been living in the Lowveld, Mpumalanga, South Africa from 1955. I have been sketching since childhood in pencil and ink. I took art Classes by Gerrit Pitout in 1985 - from then on I sketched mostly in Pastel - doing Birds and Animals. I exhibited for almost ten years at the Nelspruit Lowveld Art Market and was one of the Committee Members. I exhibited with well known Artists like Ilona Petzer, Minnie Gerber, Heila Van der Merwe, Everine Cason , Ciryl Penny, Esther Farrell ,Erina Abraham and Riette Dolazal. I also went to the Botanical Society of South Africa and exhibited at the Sappi Garden Festival for 5 years. I won a prize Certificate in 2002 for Wildlife in Oils. I went with the late Rudi de Wet, a well-known Artist for many years to Klein Kariba, a well-known Holiday Resort, to exhibit during School Holidays. I also exhibited in the Bester Brown Building with other artists.
