About Lynn

Lynn Farrell

I,m inspired by truth....
I remember when I was a child there were these huge sculptures in front of the library and its beauty captivated me, that's when i decided i want to be an artist..

I made my first sculpture when i was 17, his name was Joseph , the kiln went on by accident over the weekend and misfired, everything melted except for Joseph...he melted onto the kiln rack but he survived!
we had an exhibition and 25 years ago i was offered R1000.00 but i couldnt he lived and im my eyes had a soul....he is still with me today and hes eyes follow you wherever you go..

I had art as a subject in standerd 6 and no other formal training, a few pottery classes here and there but nothing serious.

A few years ago I got commissioned to do the stations of the cross for a church in Kayalitsha and Jesus had to be black, that was quite a spiritual experience for me and the guy who commissioned me both, we were tested with lifes challenges and learnt a few hard truths...

My latest medium is watercolour, a challenging medium but very enjoyable.

I love what i do and hope that you will too
