About Gareth

Gareth is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

In my works I try to covey emotion depth and mood. I achieve this by carefully selecting the subject thereafter deciding on the correct background on which to base his or her character and moment in time. The technique I prefer to use is chiaroscuro which was a technique commonly used by great old masters such as Caravaggio, this high contrast technique presents a great platform for my work and provides room for development.
