About Louisa

Louisa is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

My inspiration comes from the beauty of God’s creation and the creativity of my fellow artists. I hardly ever leave home without my camera. When I paint I enjoy painting from my heart and therefor I prefer to use my own photo references. Recently I started with “plein-air’ painting and found this to be an extreme challenge, but very rewarding as it opened my eyes to colors that cannot be seen in photographs.

I am very privileged to say that I took lessons from highly acclaimed and talented artists of various countries such as: Holland, New Zealand, South Africa, Russia and Canada.

I am blessed to live part of the year in Vancouver on the West coast of Canada, and the other part of the year in Cape Town on the West coast of South Africa. Both these cities are on the list of the most beautiful places on earth. There are so many subject matters to be painted that one lifetime is not enough.

When the viewer finds joy in my paintings, I know it is worth following this ever changing and growing journey. Hopefully one of my paintings will find a special place in your home.
