David Lupton

About David

David is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

My father was a graphic artist, which allowed me to develop an interest in art an early age, I went on to take art as a subject at school but got sidetracked until later in life.
I started painting seriously through encouragement from my good friend Derric van Rensburg a well known SA artist. I was inspired by his bold and courageous style which led me to start my painting journey. I have spent many hours painting under his guidance.

I am moved by bold primary colours and like simple layered abstract mixes which hopefully evoke strong emotions.
My landscapes are very simple often reflecting the bold colours of Africa.

My paintings can be found in private collections in UK, South Africa, New Zealand and China.
