Munro

About Munro

Munro is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Munro is a well-known artist, who has been painting professionally for 16 years. In creating a typical Munro painting, he uses builders’ tools as pallet knives to boldly lavish copious amounts of paint and colour onto canvas, creating quality art works of the highest artistic standard. This distinguishing technique sets his works apart, in a genre which has a huge following amongst upcoming, as well as established, artists.

To date more than 11,000 Munro paintings have been sold, making Munro South Africa's no. 1 selling artist and a household name in art. Munro's works are all numbered, catalogued and in more recent years, photographed as well. Munro's art has a widespread appeal, and paintings are found anywhere from the “voorkamer” of the guy next door, to corporate and private collections locally and internationally. Like any other artist, Munro regards every painting sold, to be a huge compliment. Although his larger paintings are quite pricy, the small ones are kept affordable, to afford everyone who likes his art, the opportunity of buying something.

In 2009 Munro retired from being a full time artist. He leads a quiet life with in the small town of Bethulie. He avoids the "limelight", and only occasionally does exhibitions upon invitation.
