About Brat

Brat is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I have a passion for life and art. I am an adrenalin junkie: a professional hunter, scuba diver, surfer, bush-lover, abseiler, pilot, fisherman and a keen sportsman- on and off the couch! I need art as a means to express my sensitive side, just to keep a happy equilibrium.
My love for painting was a mere hobby, until the day I lost my childhood friend in an elephant attack in Botswana. I was shaken by the frailty of life. I started painting to help me come to terms with the loss. The idea of leaving some "footprint" behind on this earth, comforted me.
About a year later, destiny knocked at my door when I met the famous South African artist, Munro, on the Great Barrier Reef. I loved his style and he became my mentor. Over the past 5 years, I completed my internship with him.
I love the African landscape and it's people. My paintings express these passions.
