Chimène Tison’s Art
I was blessed to grow up in the wine lands of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Nature, the weather and natural light plays and important part in my life and these also inspire me to create artworks of farm scenes, landscapes and seascapes. When I create them, it takes me back to a happy childhood as a farm girl and I try to depict an atmosphere of nostalgia, innocence and freedom in them.
After school I completed a B.Com at US and a diploma in fashion design, but my first love has always been art. So as I entered my 40s I tried my hand at oil painting and a whole new world has opened up for me. I am a self taught artist, but tap off the brilliant knowledge of colour mixing and techniques of Pieter Vermaak. Other artists inspire me with their vastly different styles and there is still so much to learn and master.
With each new painting, I hope that my enthusiasm and passion in creating it, shines through to the person who buys it and that they will treasure it.
