About Sonja

Sonja is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I grew up in the Cape, spending my childhood years playing in the rock pools of Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. I started drawing Botriver Proteas at age 6 and still enjoy drawing them today. After schooling I studied Advertising Art in Cape Town and went on to work for a well known travel Trade magazine as an in-house graphic artist. I illustrated many travel trade brochures as well as the Stellenbosch Wine Route Guide, Somerset West and also Paarl Rock Nature Reserve. After working for many years in the printing industry in Cape Town I moved to the beautiful Cotswolds in the UK. I am a colour pencil artist, drawing mainly scenes from Southern Africa concentrating on the beautiful African people and also our wonderful wildlife. I am a member of TWASI (The Wildlife Art Society International) The Wildlife Art Society International was founded in 1992 and has grown to be one of the leading Wildlife Art Societies in the UK and continues to grow in recognition internationally.
I am very lucky to live very near to world renowned Nature Art gallery,Nature-In-Art, Twigworth where I exhibit with TWASI and also spend time with like minded wildlife artists.
