About "Spectra Series"
This photo illustrates the complete abstract series of paintings I have done, called the "Spectra Series." Each of the six paintings have heavy texture and illustrate one of the colours of the spectrum.
The six paintings are available as a group, and as you can see from the photo with the white sofa, they are designed to go together creating a rhythmic rainbow effect.
The price listed is for all of the six paintings. Each one is 914mm by 762mm and is painted on all sides (gallery-wrapped) so there is no need to frame them.
To get a closer look at each of the paintings, please see the individual pieces by their names: Red="Exuberance", Orange="Love's Fire", Yellow="Awakening", Green="Anew", Blue="Nocturnal" and Violet="Exalted".
As a psychologist and artist, I combine my fields to create art that produces positive emotional responses and spiritual healing. That is why this series would be perfect for a doctor's office, a medical center, a corporate setting or a large residential space.
Of course, one has the option to not purchase the entire series, but rather one of the paintings, a pair, or three or four. If purchased individually, the price per painting is slightly higher. If you have any questions, please contact the artist through this site.

About Dr. Michael
Dr. Michael is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.
According to the Ico Gallery in New York, "Dr. Michael Durst is one of the most exciting South African artists. As a psychologist, Dr. Durst’s paintings create not only beauty for the beholder, but also a state of relaxation and healing. His work combines realism with impressionism, evoking an emotional link to the heart—thus the name: “Heartscapes.”
Dr. Durst loves to paint the beauty of Cape Town--especially the Waterfront, Table Mountain, ocean views, spring flowers, the vineyards and, of course, the people of the Cape. According to Dr. Durst, "I like to re-create a "magical moment" that I have experienced. As I do so, I strive to achieve a delicate balance between the realism of the scene and the even greater intensity created by light, texture and colour. At a certain juncture, an integration occurs. The captured moment in time is taken in without judgment by the brain, allowing the vibrational intensity to adjust the frequency of the heart’s rhythms. As the integrated process continues, the viewer becomes awash with positive emotions, a sense of peace, and greater coherence…all of which contribute to physical, mental and spiritual healing."
