About "The Grape Elf"
This painting was created out of my love for the world of fantasy together with elements from my kitchen.I have combined these two elements here, and this painting is the first in a series titled:"Kitchen Faeries".This particular painting shows the Grape Elf resting against a bunch of grapes upon which he has spread his purple fairy dust to help them grow.
I love all things from Nature - the seasons, leaves, flowers, vegetables, fruit, herbs, trees, earth, moon, sky. As well, I am intrigued by the world of magick: fairies, elves, sprites, dragons and mages. Much of our folklore has intertwined these two elements - Nature and Fantasy, and to bring them together on a canvas is very satisfying. I love to cook and my kitchen is the centre of my home, and I am therefore often inspired to paint everyday elements from my kitchen.
