About "The Modern Dilemma"

*NOTE*
This work is unframed for transportation convenience, and will be the buyer's responsibility to frame once received. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

"The Modern Dilemma" is a comment on western and western-influenced societies. It refers to how common violence, depression and suicide has become.

What inspired me to do this work was rather fitting for the message it carries. I was browsing through a site that encouraged users to post and chat with each other. The topics range from anything to anything. One of the users posted the question: "How often do you think about suicide?"

The responses were unexpected. Every user that posted admitted that they had though about suicide. Some thought of it daily, others monthly and some had only though about it in times of depression. What stopped them from doing it was their families and friends.

About Chase

Chase Abrahams

Greetings,

I'm a young artist with a passion for landscapes, portraits and anything colourful. My father was an artist (he's sold on this site in fact!) so my drawing was always slightly better than the other kids at school. Ultimately, it was the people around me the pushed to me to draw as much as I could in order to get better. That drawing eventually turned into painting. I paint for enjoyment rather than for competition.

In my final year in High School, I fell in love with landscapes. Colourful ones especially. As you have probably already notice, I love colour. My goal as an artist is to create artworks that have a strong emotional impact on the viewer. Whether the emotion is shock, joy or pure amazement, that is what keeps me painting.
