This is my stoep, overlooking the Helderberg. Guinea-fowl are regular visitors to my home, and at times they like to get involved with the decor!

About Nicolene

When I was born, I probably had a pencil or paintbrush in my hand, rather than a silver spoon in my mouth. My earliest memories are of drawing and the happiest times in my life were in an environment where my creativity was nurtured.

Through the years I have experimented with various media, including oils and silk painting, but at this stage I enjoy acrylic painting. I love bright colours and tend to paint rather realistically. I pay careful attention to detail, which obviously requires a lot of research ... and time.

My paintings are generally inspired by life around me - the stories behind them can be found op my Blog. I have a quirky sense of humour, which is reflected in some of my creations.

I live in Somerset West near Cape Town, I am married and have two children in high school. And a dog.
