About Louis
Artist died in December 2021 - no works will be sold untill further notice from the family.
Louis Pretorius was born in Middelburg in the Karoo and grew up in Cape Town. He became a teacher in 1966 and started his art in 1971.
For more than 30 years he has had many exhibitions in South Africa.Louis Pretorius is married to Emmie and since 1990 resides in Melkbosstrand.
Louis has always found soul food in being creative - especially painting, which inspiration was strengthened when he spent some time to tour Europe and the Greek islands. Spending time in the museums and art galleries contributed to this ambition. He loves painting landscapes and is concerned with Man's abuse of Our World, so endeavours to capture the beauty of nature through his paintings. "Art is the best way to escape without leaving home...."
Louis insight and passion for art is evident in his unique artworks which bring warmth, depth and beauty into a room.
