About "Valley of Desolation"

The Valley of Desolation in Graaff-Reinet inspired me to paint this painting which looks 3D when the light falls on it. I remember the quiet peaceful place it is when I look at this painting.This painting took a lot of inspiration to paint with all the detail on the cliffs and every boulder at the bottom of the valley.

About Stefan

I am a self taught artist. Drawing since childhood I developed a passion for painting landscapes, seascapes, still life's and portraits using oil and acrylic.
I won the Centurion Artist of the Year Competition in 2003 and 2004 and as a member took part in various group exhibitions held by the Centurion Art Association and a group exhibition titled UNFRAMED at Tina Skukan Gallery in Pretoria.
I have been painting full time since 1999 doing commission work.
