Born 7 Aug 1950 in Vereeniging Transvaal where she matriculated with art as one of her subjects.
She qualified as a hairdresser and has run a very successful business for many years.
Married life, children and a career never allowed to follow her passion until 16 years ago when she seriously started watercolour painting and 5 years later also carried her hobby into acrylics and oils.
She has attended many workshops and art schools during the past few years, including Derek van Rensburg, Lorna Cole, Marion Townsend and Richard Rennie to name but a few.
Ally recently started teaching watercolours to beginners and to more advanced students and has gained immense respect and admiration for the way in which she conducts her informative and skillful instruction.
She still manages to keep her loyal hairdressing clients happy, making her days extremely busy but her passion for both keep her going.
Many guest houses as well a private homes have commissioned work for their establishments and her art is very well admired and respected locally
Not only does Ally have a hectic career, but also a very busy social life. Her vibrant fun-filled personality ensures that she has many close friends always willing to spend time in her company and she sure knows how to enjoy herself.
Her love of gardening also supplies plenty of material for her painting as she loves painting flowers and animals. Another of her outstanding qualities is her love of animals and she has spent many, many nights feeding newborn kittens that she fostered for Cat Care. Of these orphans some have crept into her heart and she now shares her home with 9 cats and 2 dogs.
