About "Clair Waiting"
The women of Africa are calling out to be heard. Their powerlessness in their poverty has no voice and my work reflects their hope for change and opportunity. they come to me from the depths of my being and pour out onto the canvas, I never know what they will look like, but as soon as the painting is over, she has an energy and a life and a voice crying to be heard and noticed
My art has an energy and a life of it's own. There is always a message or feeling inside me that begs to come out onto canvas or wood. It feels as though some expressions are ancient voices that need to be heard. Once I know it's there I just have to pour it out onto my canvas or wood. Right now the voice of women are crying out to be heard, especially from Africa, the women who are poor and powerless need a say and need a voice. Often my work on the other hand reflects the abundance of life and creation. I celebrate that through my work. Each piece is deeply meaningful and has an energy of it's own that is always good. I write poetry and sometimes incorporate it into an artwork.
