About "Klipspringers" As an artist, my work is a continuous search for the heartbeat of the African wilderness--not just as it appears to the eye, but as it feels to the soul. I find myself endlessly drawn to the quiet, unnoticed symbols of resilience that define our landscape. The klipspringer is exactly that: a small, magnificent testament to unyielding strength and perfect balance. While most wildlife seeks the safety of the open valleys, the klipspringer willingly chooses the harshest, steepest rock faces as its sanctuary. It lives on the edge, walking literally on the tips of its hooves, finding absolute stability where any other creature would fall. It does not fear the sharp edges of the cliffs; instead, it uses those very stones as a fortress where no predator can reach it.This paradox of vulnerability and absolute power is what inspired me to bring this piece to life. Through bold, tactile textures and energetic layers of mixed media, I wanted to capture the raw, physical essence of both the animal and its rocky kingdom. The thick, sculpted strokes reflect the rugged texture of the mountain face, while the proud stance of the klipspringer represents a deeper message for us all. It reminds us that when life throws stones along our path, or when the terrain becomes impossibly steep, we are already built with the inner resilience to find our footing. I painted this klipspringer to celebrate the beauty of standing firm on the highest peaks, keeping our balance, and rising gracefully above the challenges of the world below. |

Also known as Sannette Fourie. I'm passionate about women, children, and colour. Colour is my vehicle to get the viewer's attention to connect with the emotion, the expression, to look deep within themselves and connect with whatever moves them. There is something of everybody in my paintings. I'm fascinated by the contrast that the female form presents. The softness of their skin, the roundness of their form, their vulnerability; compared to how strong their characters are, their souls, how much they can survive, how many times they can start over. Price Range US$ 151-24,158 Exhibitions 2005 Group Exhibition in Paris Embassy People who chose Sannette's work also chose work by: Find other:
