About "One Woman's Protest"
in Apartheid (and sadly also post-apartheid) South Africa, people are defined by the colour of their skin, and it is all a matter of degree, some who are called black are brown, some who are beige are called white. It seems you can never be just the right shade, you are either too black or too white. We need to put it all behind us, does it really matter? We are all people!

About Sue
I love expressing my reaction to what I see around me in bold loose brushstrokes and vibrant colours, sometimes abstract, sometimes not! My themes and the way I express them vary widely. I used to work mainly in oils, but also use photography and collage to express ideas. The latest series of work uses encaustic and cyanotype. The melted wax brings a wonderful dimension of transparency and texture to the work.
