Reference 008 About "The Water Bearer" It was the custom of bygone years for a Zulu maiden to fetch water from the river. In most cases the river was several kilometers away from the homestead. As a result the maiden developed a method of carrying the water. The clay pot was cleverly balanced on the head and long distances could be achieved that way. |

As time went by these scribbles became drawings and eventually paintings. Apart from once being a commercial artist I have had very little training.
