Reference oil on oil paper About "The Years " The gentleman in this painting is a local in my neighborhood. He's often seen selling fish from the back of a van from the side of the road, or he is see loitering in a drunken stupor outside one of the local stores. I snapped a picture of him on one of those days. A happiness veils his face from his intoxicated state, but that's all that it is, a veil. The years spent in the sun and the hardships of his life are etched into his skin and unable to be masked. |
